High failure rate sparks boycott of HSC maths - National : "An investigation by The Sun-Herald has found:
 The number of students enrolling for HSC maths is declining.
 The failure rate in HSC maths has increased to 10 per cent.
 A shortage of qualified teachers means three Sydney high schools and five regional schools don't have a full maths teaching staff."
